Tennessee cornerback Ty Redmond was not present for the portions of practice open to the media during the first two days of fall camp.
The sophomore, who is expected to start for the Vols this season, was held out due to an illness according to reports from the practices.
Redmond had a strong true freshman season in 2025. He finished with 43 tackles, three interceptions and 11 passes defended while starting most of the year. He earned Third-Team All-SEC honors and quickly became one of the more reliable pieces in the secondary.
Redmond’s absence is being monitored as camp continues. No timeline for his return has been announced publicly.
