Tennessee starting safety Edrees Farooq suffered a leg injury during Friday morning’s fall camp practice and was transported to UT Medical Center for further evaluation.
Multiple reports confirmed the junior defensive back sustained a lower-body injury and left the field in an ambulance. Tennessee officials informed the media of the injury shortly after it occurred.
Farooq has been one of the more reliable pieces in the Vols’ secondary. He started 12 games in 2025 and finished with 76 tackles, two interceptions (including a 45-yard pick-six against Kentucky), four forced fumbles, and three pass breakups.
No further details on the severity of the injury were available Friday morning. Updates are expected once more information comes from the university.
